Ambulance Subscription Information
Lower Milford Township Fire
Company Ambulance Corps has provided basic life support service since
1954. Paramedic service for more critically ill or injured patients
became widely offered to our township in the 1980s through South Mountain
Area Medic V.
To pay for our state certified ambulance
and the building that houses it, our all volunteer crews fund raise
through events such as community dinners; however, our annual subscription
drive is very important. Here's how it works:
- -- Fees:
We ask that each household contribute $35 for coverage, which includes
parents, children and senior citizens 65 and older living in the same
house. The cost is $25 for a senior citizen household and $50 for a
business, school or church. Money received goes toward ambulance service
only and is completely separate from the fire fund drive.
- -- Paramedic coverage:
25 percent of the stated amounts goes toward paramedic service. A paramedic
response in addition to ours is determined by a dispatcher listening to the
severity of the reported emergency or our determination when we arrive.
- -- Insurance billing:
Costs associated with ambulance runs will be submitted to your insurance
company. However, insurance companies often reimburse us only a portion
of what is billed, as with doctors and hospitals.
If you are a subscriber, you are
not responsible for the balance. A non subscribing patient would be
billed the difference. This standard practice is necessary for us to
continue offering service to the community. The subscription drive runs for
one year beginning in fall. However, if you are new to the township
or did not receive a subscription form, please email us now at
www.lowermilfordfire.org or call 610-967-0411.
